The Miramichi Area Turnaround Achievement Awards ceremonies was held on May 27th at the Rodd Miramichi River Hotel. Twenty-six area students were recognized Tuesday evening for their accomplishment in overcoming obstacles in their lives that interfered with their progress. More than 200 people attended the gala event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Chatham and Beaubear Credit Union.  Guest Speaker, Mr. Bruce Rendell, Chatham Rotary President, spoke about the work of the club in the community and congratulated the evening’s guests of honour, the students.

The Miramichi Pulamoo are well represented this summer on Basketball New Brunswick Provincial teams.7 members and former members of the Miramichi Hoops Basketball Association have been selected to represent New Brunswick this summer.  Jillian Harris was selected for the U16 team, Bailey Black will be competing with the U15's and Drew Blackmore and Kassidy Hamilton will be playing for the U15 Developmental team.  On the boy's side Travis Valanne will represent New Brunswick with the U17 boys, Daven Sharpe will be playing with the U16's and Ian Watters will compete on the U15 team.  All seven pl

Press Release 2014 Sportsmanship Awards Banquet The New Brunswick Interscholastic Athletic Association hosted its 9th Annual Sportsmanship Awards Banquet on Tuesday, May 13th at St. Thomas University in Rigby Hall in Fredericton. Twenty three student athletes (listed below) from the NBIAA’s four conferences received the Raymond Légère Sportsmanship Awards. These students have shown outstanding qualities of sportsmanship throughout the school year while participating in NBIAA sports.

M Award applications are currently being accepted at the main office. If you wish to be considered for an MVHS “M” Award you must meet the following criteria:   You must be in the graduating class of 2014. You must have made a positive contribution to MVHS in the area of Extra Curricular Athletics, Clubs or Student Council (you do not need to be involved with a group for the four years). You must attach a 250 word essay justifying your nomination. Your application must be returned to Mr. Jamieson no later than Friday, May 23, 2014
