The Youth Employment Fund (YEF) provides an entry point to long term employment for unemployed individuals between 18-29 years of age who require a work experience opportunity as identified through their employment action plan. By placing an individual with an employer, the youth may gain work experience and develop skills through basic workplace training, mentoring and coaching (from the employer). Through the case management process youth are matched with eligible employers for a 26-week (i.e. 6-month) work experience.
Individual Requirements:
Attention grads - we will not be using the Rec. Centre to line up for the graduation. We will gather and line up at 6:45 in the parking lot behind the Rec. Centre. We will return the grad gowns in the canteen area that is on the second floor of the Civic Centre.
MVHS grade 11 student Andrea Bell, has been awarded second place nationally
in the Royal Canadian Legion Remembrance Day contest for poetry in the Senior
category. In addition to the certificate recognizing her accomplishment, she
received a $500.00 cash prize. Her poem, “Row by Row” is attached below. Well done Andrea, your school is proud of you!

On Friday, May 22 the Senior
Boys' Volleyball team defeated Leo Hayes High School 3 sets to 0 to
advance to the Provincial Championship Final. Saturday, May 23, the boys
defeated Fredericton High School to bring home the first MVHS boys volleyball
title in the school's history! The boys lost the first two sets
19-25 and 17-25, forcing a must win situation. Our PULAMOO
rallied and won the third 25-15, the fourth 25-20 and the fifth 15-12.
This title puts the icing on the cake for 'The Dream Team' who also took the
UNB High School Tournament title and the L'Odyssee Tournament title.
There will be an information meeting for parents of potential graduates on Monday, June 1st at 6:30pm in the MVHS conference room. Details will be given about graduation, prom, and baccalaureate.
