Graduate Information Session

On March 25th at 7pm in the Lecture Theatre at MVHS Student Financial Services Department of Post Secondary Education, Training, and Labour will be offering a information session on Student financial assistance programs available to students attending post secondary education in the fall of 2010.

Students, Parents, and the public are invited to attend the information session.

Pulamoo Come Up Short In Game 5

The MVHS boys hockey team battled hard through a dramatic 5 game series with ESN but  were not able to pull off the upset.  After defeating ESN 5-0 in game 4, the series was pushed to the limit.  Game 5 was classic playoff hockey .  MVHS trailed 2-1 entering the third but scored 2 to take the lead.  ESN tied the game with 11 minutes remaining and the score remained tied until ESN scored with only 2 minutes left in regulation.  The Pulamoo pulled their goalie for an extra attacker but ESN scored in the empty net with only seconds remaining. Read more »

Game 4 Goes Ssaturday

The MVHS Boys hockey team hosts ESN Saturday at 5:15 at the LBA in Chatham.  The Pulamoo trail 2 games to 1 in what has been a hard fought best of 5 series.

Hockey Semi Final Dates Announced

MVHS Pulamoo Boys open their best of 5  Northern Conference semi final series against ESN on Tuesday March 9th in Bersford at 7:30 PM.  Game 2 is back at the Civic Center Wednesday March 10th at 8:30 and game 3 is Friday March 12th  in Bersford.  Further dates will be announced if they become necessary.  The winner of this series moves on to the League final against the Bathurst High School and Caraquet winner. 

Ski Trip

Those students who are taking part in the ski trip to Sugerloaf with Mr. Svarc and Mr. MacKinnon are asked to be ready to leave MVHS at 7:15 Monday morning (March 1).  Don't forget to dress warm and please don't be late.

Literacy Re/Assessment will be written on March 16th.

The Reading component of the English Language Proficiency Assessment/ Reassessment that was scheduled for January will be written on March 15th, during periods 1 and 2.  All grade 9 students, students new to the province or students who have not yet completed must write.  A notice will be sent to students to let them know their room or writing.  I Read more »

Pulamoo Boys Advance

MVHS Pulamoo defeated EME 4-3 Tuesday night in Shippigan to win the best of 5 quarter final 3 games to 1. The Pulamoo trailed 3-2 early in the third but scored goals 25 seconds apart midway through the frame to seal the victory.  Victor Moravek was strong in the Pulamoo net again, especially in the third.  Jordan Drillen scored two goals in the first while Avery Gilkes scored to tie the game and set up Josh Price's game winner.

The Pulamoo now advance to face ESN on Bathurst in the league semi with dates to be announced in the coming days.

Pulamoo Storm Back to Take Game 3

MVHS fell behind early 3-0 Sunday in game three of the best of five series against EME but rallied with 5 unanswered goals to secure the 5-3 win and 2-1 series lead.  Jordan Drillen scored his second of the game early in the third period to tie the score and Billy Gaston scored the winner with 8 minutes left.  Other MV scorers were Jesse Garden, and Eric Orser.  Viktor Moravek earned the win between the pipes.

Student Wins CUTE Award

One of our students, Rose Curtis, won an award last night, February the 18th, at the District 16 Creative Use of Technology in Education (CUTE) Awards. Read more »
