We will need to become familar with video editing as we begin to use our ROV.  This week (Tuesday and Thursday classes) we will be doing an assignment using Windows Live Movie Maker and footage taken over the weekend by the MVHS Fly Fishing Club.  You will have access to pictures/videos taken by the GoPro, Sony and iPhone devices.  I also included documents given to the club members and a couple logos.  TASK:  Create a 1 - 2 minute promotional video that highlights the Fly Fishing Club's trip on Cains River.  This can be done individually or in pairs.  The video needs to include:  a title page with logo(s), text, pictures and edited video clips from the given files.  If you feel that more video/pictures are needed, feel free to include as well.  When completed, save the video to a folder called 'MVHS Underwater Robots Project' on your h drive.  WEEKLY UPDATE:  Each student must post a blog entry that promotes their video and includes a link to a 10 second trailer from the completed video within the blog entry.  DUE:  Video and blog post due Monday, October 6 first of class! (since we had some tech difficulties)

Today in the pool we wanted to test the wireless connectivity of the GoPro when under the water.  We also wanted to get some under pics/videos with our older GoPro and Sony underwater camera.  Lastly, using the GoPro and Wordpress Apps, upload an image to our blog from the deck of the pool.CONCLUSSIONS...-  GoPro loses connectivity to App and remote when under the water.-  Video quality of the GoPro is excellent...have to record by pressing button on GoPro.-  Pictures are good quality but may not be a feature used with OpenROV...especially photoburst feature.-  Sony underwater camera takes good pictures and video.-  Success with using GoPro App to save a picture to attach within the WordPress App when posting a blog entry!
