New Brunswick is currently experiencing an outbreak of whooping cough (Pertussis). The best way to protect against whooping cough is through immunization. Grade 9 students will receive a Tetanus-Diphtheria-whooping cough vaccine at school. All grade nine students are also eligible for a vaccine against meningococcal infection. This vaccine offers protection against four types of meningococcal disease: A, C, Y, and W-135.All grade nine students received two pamplets on October 10th that will include the consent forms. We ask that parents and guardians complete both sections of both consent forms and return the forms to the student's English teacher by Friday, October 12th.The immunization clinic will be held at MVHS on October 18th.Vaccines will not be provided without parental signature on the immunization consent form.
