Winter Carnival

The MVHS Winter Carnival takes place the week of February 18-22.  Here is a quick look at the weeks events. Monday, February 18th, 2013 Dress up theme:  Dress your Best. Students are to dress in their best attire, including ties, suits, and dresses. A minimum of 3 items per student is necessary to qualify for points. Noon hour activity:  The Perfect Posture Relay (Gym).  Students are to race through a designed course while balancing a book on their head (cannot use hands or other parts to balance the book).  1 member is needed per team. Evening event: MVHS Royalty Pageant (Theatre). Event begins at 7 pm. Cost is 5 dollars. Tuesday, February 19th, 2013 Dress up theme:  Duck Dynasty Day. Everyone will be Happy ,Happy, Happy! Dress in camouflage outdoor wear, and other items that go along with being outdoorsmen.  A minimum of 3 items per student is necessary to qualify for points. Noon hour activity:  Duck Dynasty Style Rock, Paper, Scissor Tournament (Theatre).  Each class elects one member to partake in a Pellet, Bread and, Duck single elimination tournament. 1 member is needed per team. Evening event:  Variety Show (Gym). Event starts at 7 pm.  Cost is 5 dollars. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place members receive points for their teams.  A rubric can be found in appendix 1. Wednesday, February 20th, 2013 Dress up theme:  Favorite Fictional Character Day. Students dress up as their favorite cartoon character.  A minimum of 3 items per student is necessary to qualify for points. Noon hour activity:  Pictionary. (Theatre) One member of each team will go head to head and guess the picture a guests drawing.  It is single round elimination.  Andy Thibodeau will do a presentation in the afternoon during Independent Study/Pd.6.  Students are to go to Independent Study for attendance.  No evening event.  (It is the Storm date for the Pageant or the Variety Show, if needed.) Thursday, February 21st, 2013 Dress up theme:  Fake an Injury Day.  A minimum of 3 items per student is necessary to qualify for points. Noon hour activity:  Fly on the wall (Gym). Teams of 4 must choose 1 member to tape to the wall.  The Member that sticks to the wall the longest with no assistance will win.  Tape will be provided.  Judges will determine overtime if need be. Evening event:  Dance is from 7:30 to 10:30.  Doors close at 8:30. Friday, February 22nd, 2012 Dress-up theme: Blue and Gold Spirit Day. (This will not count for team points but is encouraged). Events:  The following is the schedule for the day, followed by details of each event.  Please note that the day is broken up to take place in three venues 1. Outdoors (parking lot by shop, soccer field, Carrefour rink), 2. Gym (gym and pool), 3. Cafeteria and Theatre.
