The Miramichi Cross Country Ski Club wants to encourage students to be active during their break next week. Starting this Saturday, March 4th and through to Sunday March 12, students can rent skis, boots and poles and receive a trail pass for the day for $5.00. The club is located in Nelson Miramichi on Nelson St. (Hwy 126) about 1/2 kilometer past Papa Joe's on the way to Moncton, on the left. The club house is open from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.

Night skiing unfortunately is not practical as our 4 kilometers of lighted trail has suffered significant damage from last month's ice storm and is not yet repaired.

With the varying weather we have been experiencing this winter, students should call the club at 622-6991 if there is uncertainty about conditions. They could also check the club's website at www.skimiramichi.com .

Even when it is quite mild out we are often still able to operate so warm weather and wet roads doesn't mean the trails are closed necessarily.
