The
Annual Rotary Club of Chatham Chili Cook off was held during the Pumpkin
Festival. The winner this year, who has
bragging rights as the Best Chili on the River is O’Donaghue’s Irish Pub. Other
tough contenders were Jungle Jim’s, Tim Hortons, Subway, Rodd Miramichi Hotel
and Rotary Club of Chatham. Hat’s off to
each of the chef’s that created the wonderful chili. A total of $352.00 was raised for the
Breakfast Program with the mystery chili testing and this was increased to $1000
by a donation from the Rotary Club. James M. Hill Interact students who worked all
day setting up the taste testing and accepting donations were Amy Landry, Elyse
Girouard, Carolanne Martin, Alex Stockli, Naomi Mercedes McGowan, Lauren
Fitzpatrick and Bridget Moran. Rotary
members who organized & worked the
event were Rachel Tsistinas, Valerie Bowes, Ed McFarlane, Lucy McCray, Bob
Lipsett, & Bruce Rendell. This was a
great community event and raised money for a good cause. Thank you to everyone
who made a donation and helped on Saturday.
