The second Policy 409 consultation for parents was held on May 22nd, 2012 at Miramichi Valley High School. At this meeting, the following 3 recommendations were submitted:
1. Build a new K-8 school to house students currently attending Croft Elementary, Harkins Elementary, Gretna Green Elementary and Harkins Middle. This school should be built to incorporate Early Childhood services. Close all existing schools.
2. Build a new K-8 school to house students currently attending Croft Elementary, Harkins Elementary and Harkins Middle. Continue to maintain Gretna Green with the possibility of expansion to grade 8. Harkins Elementary, Croft Elementary and Harkins Middle would be closed.
3. Build a new 3-8 school to house students from Croft Elementary, Harkins Elementary, Gretna Green Elementary and Harkins Middle. Maintain Croft Elementary and Gretna Green Elementary as primary schools (K-2) to incorporate Early Childhood services. Harkins Elementary and Harkins Middle would be closed.
