December 22/Journal #3

The past few weeks we have been cutting out and peeling designs and numbers for the Renous hockey team. We have learned alot about the silhouette studio by doing this, we have learned how to flip the image and rotate the images. We didn't have trouble with the silhouette studio, but we had a little bit of trouble with heat press. When we were using the heat press we now have to hold down the handle the whole press because the handle will fly up when we don't, when before the handle would stay down when we put it down. With the heat press we have learned how to adjust the pressure and we learned about how if we have to much pressure or not enough than the press wouldn't work. We have started to put the designs on the hockey jerseys. There was a time were we had to wait for the jerseys so we organised the numbers we needed for the jerseys. While we were waiting for the jerseys to come in we have created our own logo for our t-shirts and we changed it up. With our Logo and name for our design we ran into some troubles. The name we had come up with was True North but we had found out that it was already a thing, so we had to chnge our name. Our new name is 4 Directions.

This past few weeks we have peeled designs for the Miramichi Valley Roarty Club for we day. After we had all the designs peeled we learned how to use the heat press and we made t-shirts with the designs. We didn't really have any problems with the heat press or the peeling, but there was a couple of times were we pressed the t-shirts and the letters didn't go on the shirts, so we had to do a secound press. After we helped the Roarty club make their t-shirts we had gotten familiar with the silhouette program. After we figured out how to use the program we had started to make stickers for the retro acrade machine. At first we were just putting the stickers on the machine, but after we got more complicted stickers we used transfertape that made it a lot easier to stick the stickers on the the arcade machine. Over all we didn't really have that many problems and so far it's been fun learning all the different things that you can do with vinyl.
