The Neil Linklater ASRNB Integrity Scholarship was established in 2021 by Aboriginal Sport and Recreation New Brunswick (ASRNB). Neil Linklater of Mi’kmaq and Cree descendant was a student from Miramichi Valley High School who strongly believed in experiencing life wholeheartedly and to the fullest. He loved to play many sports such as rugby, basketball, soccer, volleyball, track and field, hockey, and softball. He involved himself in any extra-curricular activity that involved helping someone; making a new friend; or spending time with the many friends he already had. Integrity is a trait everyone should strive towards. Neil showed integrity by putting others’ needs above his own and demonstrating strong values. He respected both young and old, always striving to do the right thing without the desire for recognition. That is the beauty of someone who lives a life of integrity.
