Parents and Students: Check the Calendar

 If you would like to see what you might have missed when you were absent, or if your parents would like to see what you are working on in art class, you can check the entries on the calendar on the lower right. The art room is open daily at noon if you wish to come in and catch up on work. There may be two sets of entries- one for grade 9 and one for grade 11.

Note to all art students

If you are taking visual art with me this semester, you will need the following items. A sketchbook (A simple one is provided for free but students may choose to purchase their own. Please do not confuse sketchbooks and scrapbooks. Scrapboooks often do not contain good drawing paper.) Pencil crayons (They are on sale for great prices right now!) Pencils and erasers Ruler Scissors Glue stick

September 21 : Note to Grade 9 Visual Art Students

September 15th

Art 9 - We have finishe NAME assignments and worked on shading techniques today (ask for shading sheet if you missed this). Art 110 - We are continuing to work on our SHOE drawings with an emphasis on CONTOUR and LINE.

Thursday, September 9th

Art 9 - Students created 6 original patterns (/10). Tomorrow you will need your pencil crayons.   Art 110 - Upside Down drawing and Blind Contour drawing (/5 each). If you missed today, please complete these on your own and pass in ASAP.

April 7th

Grade 10 - We looked at the art of Robert Bateman and talked about ways to us complementary colors on the color wheel to create neutral or natural colors. Tomorrow you will choose either landscape or wildlife as a subject for watercolor paintings.

Art 120 - Keep working on your acrylic paintings. Many starting to add colour now. They look great so far! Art 10 - Please pass in your "Comix" paintings ASAP so I may mark them and update your marks for Monday. Keep working on your 3 skill drawings: Facial Proportions, The Skeleton and The Word Shape Assignment Art 9 - Keep working on your individual assignments. You are doing very well at working independently. Art Club - It was decided the Art Club needs to be revitalized. Next Thursday we will be meeting to discuss this.
