St. Thomas University--will be here Wednesday, October 10th at noon in the main lobby from 12pm-1pm. 

Mount Saint Vincent--will be here Thursday, October 11th at noon in the main lobby from 12pm-1pm.  They will be doing on-the-spot admission and will waive the application fee.


Dates:  July 14th & 15th

This two-day event is designed for grade 11 students who live in rural NS or out-of-province to give them the opportunity to visit campus when they might not otherwise be able to.

Students will recieve a guided tour of campus and of downtown Halifax, as well as sessions on programs, admissions, student life, and residence. The university provides all food and accommodations in our Loyola residence for this event.

This event is open to all grade 11 students who are entering grade 12 in the fall of this year.

Students can register at  The deadline to register is June 29th.

During the admissions session, students can complete an application to Saint Mary's University, with the application fee waived.  Students may choose to be considered for admissions on the spot through early admission, and will require a final grade 11 transcript and a list of their grade 12 courses to do so.

If you wish to be considered for an MVHS “M” Award you must meet the following criteria:


  1. You must be in the graduating class of 2018.
  2. You must have made a significant contribution to MVHS in the area of Extra Curricular Athletics, Clubs or Student Council (you do not need to be involved with a group for the four years).
  3. You must attach a 250 word essay justifying your nomination.
  4. Your application must be returned to Mr. Jamieson no later than Friday, May 25th, 2018
  5. A committee will review all applications and select the award recipients.  Not all applicants will necessarily qualify.

Lee Johnston Ltd. is offering a $500 Scholarship to a grade 12 student in good academic standing, who has been accepted into a forestry program.  Preference will be given to Forestry Students.
Applications must include:
1.     Completed Application
2.     Transcript of Marks
3.     Essay – 250 Words
Completed applications must be returned to Miramichi Valley High School Main Office by 3pm on May 25th, 2018 for consideration.  Prior to selection, applicants will have an interview with Lee Johnston.

  • Must be registered as a full-time student in a first-year program of a post-secondary school by September following the school year of applications
  • Must provide an official document from their academic institution confirming that they are accepted for the following academic year and indicating that a diploma or degree is underway
  • Must have sponsorship from an educator that knows the applicant at the same school (secondary school), and a reference letter from him/her
  • Must include a motivational letter outlining your reasons for application, your goals, and relevant background
  • Must provide an up-to-date transcript of their academic records.
  • Must submit a resume.



    $1000 will be awarded to one student in the Miramichi Region (MVHS, JMH, NSER, BHS and Carrefour Beausoleil).

The SEED application is now available online for grade 12 students planning to pursue their studies in the fall of 2018.
The 2018 Student Employment Development (SEED) program has been launched. SEED provides quality experiential learning opportunities for students during the summer months.  Students can apply online at Employers can also begin to post job opportunities. A representative from Holland College will be here during lunch hour on Thursday, February 1st in the main lobby.

A representative will be at the Rodd Miramichi from 6:30-7:30pm (meeting room off the restaurant)  on Wednesday, January 31st.  Visitors will be able to ask questions, and applications are able to be filled out on-site.  This session will be open to both parents and students.

On January 31st from 6pm to 7:30pm at the Rodd Inn hotel in Miramichi (Northwest Room), Oulton College will be there to talk to students who are still not sure what they want to do after grade 12 or would love to apply. There will be Admission Advisors on site to answer any questions the students or parents may have and they can do acceptance on the spot for the majority of our programs.  Refreshments will also be provided.
