Memorial University has moved its Application for Admission (Undergraduate, Graduate and Marine Institute applications) to a new platform that allows for an improved user experience by making the application more responsive and offering better functionality. The new platform also incorporates the functionality to implement Confirmation of Admission and Tuition Fee Deposit as approved by Senate in March 2019 for Fall 2021 implementation.Over the past year, Memorial has engaged with the university community and a variety of student/applicant groups in a review of its Application for Admission. Based on the responses received, a number of positive changes have been incorporated into the application. The application introduces a responsive user interface with the ability for the user to upload unofficial documentation and student-generated documentation directly to their application. It will also introduce improved payment options, user access to the submitted application information, and communication regarding application requirements.Students can now access the Application for Admission for Fall (September) 2021.

My name is Chris Murdoch and I’m the Associate Registrar, Student Recruitment for Nova Scotia Community College. NSCC will soon be holding our first ever virtual Open House and I wanted to take this opportunity to inform you of the event, in hopes that you may pass along the information to any interested students:

https://www.nscc.ca/openhouse/

This event will consist of a number of online information sessions. There is a general “Discover NSCC” session, as well as a “High School Students: Discover NSCC” session – these may appeal most to your students. Each session will offer lots of information as well as the opportunity to ask questions to a recruiter live:

https://www.nscc.ca/openhouse/schedule/index.asp

Registration and attendance at one of the sessions held between November 17th and 21st will result in a free application to the College. We will send attendees an email within 24 hours of the session, containing a link to a free online application. The link is valid up until December 11th.

Those who apply with this link will be entered into a draw for a $1000 tuition credit! The draw will take place on December 15th.

Please let me know if I can answer any questions. We would love to have participants from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island – especially this year, where participation is that much easier.

Please note that a promocode is included to waive the application fee.

As information moves more and more into digital formats, we’ve compiled a ‘digital suitcase’ of materials and resources for your and

your student’s reference. Please see all items either attached or hyperlinked below:

·       Digital Viewbooks and Video Viewbook – Canadian, International, and Francophone brochures as well as a series of short videos on a variety of topics

·       15 Reasons Admissions Presentation – 15min video that could be used in place of a MS Teams or Zoom presentation, or simply shared with interested students to view on their own time (honestly I think it’s way more engaging than a video call and does a good job overviewing the university and info relevant to a prospective student)

·       Request Information Form – for any student wishing to receive information and updates throughout the year from Mount A

It’s been a tough year. In the interest of generating smilesJ: If a student is ready to apply, they can use the following promocode to waive the $50.00 application fee: futuremountie21

Then, if any student is interested to schedule a one on one meeting with me over the course of the Fall, I am happy to do so! Share my email curtis@mta.ca or work cell (506) 961-0633.
