Complete the following for Monday:  The Old Man and the Sea  pages 9-25 1. State the first line of the novel.  What does it say about the individual and the world? 2. What does “salao” mean? If you are still having difficulty with the Hemingway story, remember the reading strategies discussed in class.  You should reread the story over the weekend.  Become engaged with the text and read for understanding. A number of you did not pass in your two page Hemingway assignment on Hills Like White Elephants.  Deadlines are important.  Pass it in Monday!!!
