o   click on the video link Section 2 4 Product Quotient Rule - YouTube

§  As the video stats the first 25 minutes the students will be writing a quiz.

§  Start the time once the last test is handed out. Please do not allow anymore than 30 minutes for the quiz, and make sure you stress this as you are handing it out. (Don’t let anyone leave the class while the quiz is going on).

§  Once the quiz is collected play the video.

o   Please pause the video where it tells you to also ensure that the students copy down the Power and Quotient Laws.  You should be pausing the video so they can copy out the questions that we work through together as well.

o   Inform students that they have today’s lesson, video lesson and homework already on their OneNote/Teams, and that they need to ensure simplify using the rules they just learned before evaluating.

 MVHS Parent Teacher Interviews

To Parent/Guardians,

This fall, our traditional Parent/Teacher, which is scheduled for next Thursday, evening and Friday morning for Miramichi Valley High School, will be different due to COVID-19.

We are being advised by the Department of Education to not have face-to-face interviews. However, below are two options I am providing so parents/guardians can contact me.

The first and best option would be to communicate with me directly through email should you wish to discuss your child’s progress in my class.  If you wish to talk to me directly, you can email me with your name and number and a general time that works best for you (within the parent teacher times listed below) and I will try my best to get back to you. My email is melanie.burns@nbed.nb.ca.

If email is not possible, you can contact the main office at 627-4083 during regular school hours to set up a “call-in-time”. Keep in mind, that the office staff might be taking other calls, so please leave a voicemail with your details and I will do my best to get back to you

Please keep in mind that regular parent teacher interview hours are

on Thursday November 19th from 4:00pm- 6:00pm and Friday November 20th from 9:00am to 12:00pm, and “call-in time” will be made for these hours.

Thank you,

Melanie Burns

Progress Reports

Progress reports went home Oct 14 & 15 for this class.  They were sent out early to let parents know what their child's mark was before writing their unit test, which is today and tomorrow.  Another progress report will be sent home on Oct 23 (Gold students) and Oct 26 (Blue students) with your child's up to date mark including the mark they make on today's test

Information on Math 9:

For this class, students are expected to work 50- 60 minutes on each Home Learning Day. Home Learning Days are NOT a day off.

In this class, students have assigned work they MUST be working on every day, including on their home learning day. For this class, we are using   TEAMS & ONE NOTE   to post daily work and assignments. All students were shown how to use this and if they are still struggling extra support is available upon the student’s request. For any student who does not have internet access or an electronic device, other arrangements have been made for their home learning day.

EXTRA HELP FOR MATH is MONDAY to Friday  from 12:30 to 12:55

If you need to contact me in regards to this student’s progress, you can email me at melanie.burns@nbed.nb.ca or call me at 627-4083.
