English 10: Narrative topics must be ready to go for tomorrow's class.  Today we looked at how writers slow time down and speed time up in their writing.  Tomorrow, we will be talking about how to write an effective lead.   English 112: Finish the What does it say/What does it not say chart for tomorrow.

English 10: Do a second draft reading of "Yamhill Street".  Highlight things that you notice about the writer's style (ex: written in first person, word choice, voice, etc.).  We will be discussing your finds on Monday. English 112: Projects are due by the end of the week.  Also, comprehension questions on "The Lost Love of Tommy Waterfield" are due tomorrow. Writing 110: Students should complete individual homework that was assigned by Mrs.Cabel. English 112: Work on your projects!  They are due before you go home for Christmas Break.  Also, the test on Lord of the Flies will be on Thursday.  You will be given a review sheet on Monday. English 10: Finish the Scout shift chart for Monday, as well as the quotation paragraph on suspense.  Your test will be next Thursday.  You will receive a review sheet on Monday.

Writing 110: We are currently in the research/prewriting stage of our argument piece.  Some students have moved on to drafting.  We are pushing ourselves to get creative and move beyond the five paragraph essay. English 112: Projects are due before you go home for Christmas break.  There are only two more project days left.  Next week, we will be watching the film and reviewing for our test. English 10: Don't forget to read to the end of chapter 26 for tomorrow.

Writing 110: See the attachment for the quick write you missed today.  Answer one of the first two questions at the end of the article.  Also, writers notebooks are being collected on Monday.  You need 12 entries. English 112:  Work on projects over the weekend.  PERIOD 4 - Read chapter 11 for Monday. English 10: Work on projects over the weekend.  Read to the end of chapter 26 for Tuesday.

Writing 110: Please complete the argument organizer that you were given today.  We will be discussing it tomorrow. English 112: Now that we have looked at different types of organizers, I would like you to create your own.  The topic of your organizer is the following: **Organize your knowledge of the boys' reactions to Simon's death.  You should focus on Ralph, Piggy, and Jack. -BE CREATIVE!  Your organizer can be visual, mathematical, a chart, etc.  Think about your own learning style.  If you are artistic, you may want to do a visual organizer.  If you like math and science, you may want to do a mathematical organizer. -YOU MUST INCORPORATE QUOTES!!!                     Period 2 - graphic organizers are due Thursday.                     Period 4 - graphic organizers are due Friday. English 10: Please read chapter 24 tonight for homework.
