Students have completed their literary essays and we are now moving on to our final unit, which is a multigenre reading and writing project. The majority of the homework for the next two and a half weeks will be reading. Students need to have their books completed by the last week of school. They will have time to read at school, but they will also need to read each night for homework.

Tomorrow we will finish reading Macbeth. There are some important dates coming up:
Monday, May 8th - projects are due
Tuesday, May 9th - test on the play (review sheets will be given out this Wednesday and Monday will be a full class review day)

We have been working on creative extensions for our class novel, Between Shades of Gray. Today was the last class to work on these - they are due on Monday, May 8th. Tomorrow, we will be shifting gears and focusing on writing a persuasive essay on the book.

We are currently working in groups to create movie trailers for The Outsiders. The students are doing a great job and are all on the filming aspects of their projects.

We are involved in an exciting project right now - we are filming a whole-class movie trailer for The Outsiders. There is not a lot of homework right now, with the exception of bringing in costumes and props. So far this has been an awesome experience!
