The school store is open and is in transition. We are looking to order new items, but in the meantime, we have to sell all remaining items. We have several pompom toques for $15. Tuesday, September 8th - for grade nine students and NEW students only - students entering grade 9 or students who will be new to MVHS, please report to the gym for 8:30. There will be a free BBQ for lunch.Wednesday, September 9th - for all students - students in grade nine will report to homeroom and students in grades 10, 11, and 12 will check in the main lobby for homeroom assignment.
Student council fees may be paid on Thursday, September 3rd from 9am to 12 noon in the main lobby or during the first week of school. The student council fee is $45.00. Cheques should be made payable to MVHS Student Council and please have the exact amount only. Please indicate the student's name on the reference line of the cheque.Lockers will also be available at this time. All locks have been changed. Students will obtain the locker combination when they pay the student council fee.
The Youth Employment Fund (YEF) provides an entry point to long term employment for unemployed individuals between 18-29 years of age who require a work experience opportunity as identified through their employment action plan. By placing an individual with an employer, the youth may gain work experience and develop skills through basic workplace training, mentoring and coaching (from the employer). Through the case management process youth are matched with eligible employers for a 26-week (i.e. 6-month) work experience.
Attention grads - we will not be using the Rec. Centre to line up for the graduation. We will gather and line up at 6:45 in the parking lot behind the Rec. Centre. We will return the grad gowns in the canteen area that is on the second floor of the Civic Centre.
