Sept. 14/15

During class the students watched a video, which was used to show them that its easier to complete things when it is broken down into steps (even if they didn't think they could do it).  We also talked about observations and they checked their own observation skills.

The students have been asked to familarize themselves with Teams.  An "assignment" was given as guidance to what they should try to do.  Teams will be used throughout the semester to post notes/questions/ assignment/  This will be particularly important for "at home" learning days.  The students were given a paper copy of the "assignment" to explain an problems that occur.

Sept. 14/15

What did we do today?

Students completed the Grade 9 Screener. The screener is a formative assessment composed fo questions from grade 7 and 8 math.  This took approximately 30 to 40 minutes.  Once the screener was handed in students were introduced to Microsoft Teams and Notebook.  The first assignment is for them to become familiar with the new technology that is available to them.

All work for Math 9 this semester will be posted in Microsoft Teams, Class Notebook.

Math 9 Exam Review

Although we did not complete all the required outcomes from Grade 9 Math this semester, we did complete all the essential outcomes required to get you prepared for grade 10 Math.  Today’s post is going to be the regular exam review material I would normally post each year during exam the review week, (except for chapter 9 since we did not have time to cover it).

Please use the material I post as an assessment tool to ensure you are comfortable with the grade 9 material that was delivered this semester online and to help guarantee you are ready for grade 10 math in the fall.
