All parents, guardians, students, and friends in the community are invited to the MVHS Wellness Breakfast taking place on Thursday, February 12th from 7am-9am. This is a free breakfast, hosted by the entire MVHS staff. In addition to breakfast, there will be several wellness displays, draws, and entertainment. We hope to see you there!
Public Health will be returning to our school the afternoon of February 12th to offer students Menveo,the vaccine against Meningitis C. Your child may have received this vaccine in the fall when public health was at the school. If so, please disregard this message. If your child did not receive this vaccine, this is the opportunity to protect him/her against this disease. Please contact the school and we will provide your child with a consent form for you to sign and return .
In an effort to provide the safest and most secure learning environment for our students and staff, the following safety procedures will be implemented, effective Monday, January 26th: All school doors will be locked during the school day from 8:30am to 3:20pm, with the exception of lunch time. The main entrance is now equipped with a live video feed and buzzer system located on the brick wall to the left of the main front doors. Upon arrival, please press the button for entry and report to the main office.
If grads are interested in having a grad photo re-take, please see Mrs. Hudson for an appointment. The re-take date is Feb. 9th and students must have an appointment.
There is no school for MVHS students on January 26 and 27. The new semester at MVHS begins on January 28th, 2015. Students are asked to go to their semester one period one class to receive their report card and new schedule.
In the event of a school closure during exams the exam schedule will be moved forward one day. For example, if school is closed on Monday, period 1 exams will be written on Tuesday, period 2 exams will be written on Wednesday and so on.
Also keep in mind that students are only to be at school on their days of writing and there will be no cafeteria services during exam time.

We are currently in need of Youth Leader Volunteers, from Grade 9 and up! Volunteers must demonstrate commitment and dedication, an interest in working with children, and teamwork skills. Through volunteering at the Boys and Girls Club, you will gain valuable experience, use your skills, and have fun being a positive role model for kids of all ages!
