Notes

Welcome back students!

If you are enrolled in my STTE classes (Metals Fabrication 110, Metals Processing 110/120) YOU are required to provide the following personal protective equipment in order to work in the shop:

CSA approved steel toed boots/shoes in good condition.

CSA approved clear lense safety glasses.

Acceptable clothing-long sleeve cotton shirts, jeans or work pants-no synthetic materials are to be worn.

Students will be assigned the required PPE for welding and cutting operations by the instructor as well as any other PPE above and beyond basics of CSA approved boots/shoes and CSA approved glasses.

If you misuse the safety equipment I provide you to complete assigned duties, you will lose priveleges to access these items and you will have to provide your own.

Continue to use the information posted last week to keep your trades related math skills fresh in your mind.

We had just wrapped up safety and it was time to start working in the shop to complete practical activities.

Over the next week, look on YouTube and find some videos to watch that show the proper set up and use of the tools/machines and equipment we completed the safety activity sheets for.

Think about some of the things that we use in our daily lives or have in our surrounding environment that are produced using these machines and techniques and then see if you can find a video to watch to show how that item is made.

I will be making contact with those of you who i have contact information for to check to see how you are doing and if you have any questions!

Stay safe and have a great day:)

Today is a new day as we embark on a new style of learning in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic. I will be posting various information and activities on my teacher page for you to take advantage of over the next days/weeks that follow.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at gregg.bruce@nbed.nb.ca and i will assist you in a timely manner.

I will also be making contact with you via a phone call in the next day or two. I want to touch base and see how you are doing and have a quick chat!
