We read a Case Study on Charles Darwin and watched some clips on his history. Also discussed notes on adaptations and genetics. Be sure to know these for the test next week!

We looked into what factors influence the human population. Checked out some interesting websites on... world clock, global life expectency and average income in Canada. Be sure to get the notes as test will be next week.

We discussed the Easter Island article and video that we watched yesterday. We also did an activity on populations where groups were assigned a growth rate and graphed their results. Finished with discussing negative/positive influences on human populations and the environment.HOMEWORK: Work on getting eco-points and continue researching your topic.

We read an article on Easter Island and discovered that it is an example of many of the themes we have discussed so far in the course...deforestation, sustainability, 'Lorax' themes and populations. We took the first 20 minutes to continue working on the lab from yesterday [must be passed in FIRST of class on Friday]. We did some math using an exponential growth formula and discussed some key terms (check out the notes for definitions). Be sure to know the logistic vs exponential diagram!
