I am unavailable for parent-teacher interviews Thursday evening because I am coaching the JV girls volleyball team and we travel to Caraquet for a game that evening.  I will be available for parent-teacher interviews on Friday afternoon, if you wish to meet at an alternate time please email me at tammy.mcguigan@nbed.nb.ca
Students have questions and a creative extension to complete on the short story "Sentry."  Please submit to Mrs. McGuigan by Thursday, March 24.

Answer the following questions about the short story Charles and pass in tomorrow:   1.  According to the narrator, how did Laurie change when he went to kindergarten? 2.  Describe the irony that occurs at the end of this story.  Why is it ironic? 3.  What is the message of the story? 4.  Give examples of foreshadowing (hints) that occur in the story. 5.  Why did Laurie's parents take so long to find out the truth about Charles? 6.  Why did Laurie create the imaginary boy Charles? 7.  What does Laurie's mother mean when she says, "With the third week of kindergarten Charles was an institution in our family...?" 8.  Why is Laurie's mother so eager to meet Charles?
