The New Brunswick-Québec Student Exchange Program is a reciprocal exchange program that has operated in New Brunswick for a number of years. Francophone students from Québec live with New Brunswick families for three months and attend New Brunswick high schools. Later in the school year, students from New Brunswick live with Québec families for three months and attend Québec high schools.
Eligible
participants are current Grades 9 and 10 FSL students (French immersion
and Core/Post intensive); that is, students who will be in Grades 10
and 11 during the 2013-14 school year.
The ring lady from Jostens will be here on Thursday, April 4th at lunch hour. A sixty dollar deposit is required to order a grad ring and the remaining balance is due when the ring arrives in 6 to 8 weeks. For more information, please pick up a catalogue at the main office.
Report cards went home today (April 3rd). Parent teacher interviews will be held on Thursday from 4-6pm and Friday morning from 9-11:30am. Students are welcome to attend with their parent or guardian.
Our grad class is now selling
cookie dough for ten dollars a pail. There are six different types available:
chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, ginger, double chocolate, rainbow chip, and
shortbread. To order, please see any potential grad or contact Mrs. Hudson at the main
office. All orders must be in by March 28th. Delivery will be to the school and
a pick up date will be announced at a later time. All money raised goes to
lowering grad fees for the 2013 graduation class.
All students received a parent
survey and a survey instruction sheet. We ask that parents please complete the survey online or by
using the paper-and-pencil copy and envelope provided. If the paper copy is
completed, please return the survey to the school. Please complete the survey by
March 25th.
All boys interested in playing on the JV Boys' Volleyball Team are invited to attend tryouts this upcoming week. The following are the dates and times:

Dress up theme: Fake an Injury Day. A minimum of 3 items per student is necessary to qualify for points.
Noon hour activity: Fly on the wall (Gym). Teams of 4 must choose 1 member to tape to the wall. The Member that sticks to the wall the longest with no assistance will win. Tape will be provided. Judges will determine overtime if need be.

The MVHS Boys HockeyTeam defeated Tracadie 4-3 in Game 1 of the best of 5 Northern Conference Semi Final. Shane Johnston scored 3 and David MacIsaac had 1. Game 2 goes Friday night at the Civic Center so come out and support the boys.
Jeunesses Musicales Canada (JMC) is presenting a concert Tuesday, February 19th at 7:30 p.m. to which school students are very welcome to attend with free admission. JMC is a national not-for-profit organization that promotes opportunities for young Canadians to perform and enjoy classical music. The local branch, JMC –Miramichi, hosts four concerts a season performed by up-and-coming young professional musicians who tour Eastern Canada. The performances, held at Carrefour Beausoleil, are always delightful.
Due to the storm, we had to tweak the Winter Carnival Schedule. Here is the new schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the week will remain the same.
