A $250 Bursary will be offered to a grade 12 student who is considering a career in nursing (RN or LPN), or paramedic.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Answer the following questions and attach to the application.

·         Why did you choose a career in the health care profession?

·         Do you have a role model or experiences that have drawn you to this career?

·         What characteristics do you feel are most important in this field?

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on May 19th, 2023 for consideration. 

A $1000 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is attending a recognized post-secondary institution.

Criteria:

·         Completed Application

·         Graduating from Miramichi Valley High School.

·         Applicants must have contributed to the social setting and the positive environment of the school or community, show concern for others, and have a good work ethic. Please include a one-page write-up outlining your contributions to the school or community.

·         Consideration of financial need.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 19th, 2023, for consideration.

For the seventh year in a row, Opportunities NB invites graduating high school students who are enrolled in a New Brunswick post-secondary institution to apply for the NB Proud Awards. The awards, valued at $2,000 each, will be presented to five finalists from the five economic regions in the province to support their post-secondary education goals.

 

We are reaching out to high schools across the province for your help to encourage graduating students to apply!

 

This year, applicants are asked to write an essay of no more than 500 words in response to the following question:

“The year is 2035 and you’re living your best life in New Brunswick, in an essay of no more than 500 words, tell us about your potential career and how you are contributing to the province’s success and economic growth.”

 

Applicants are required to take and submit a photo that relates to their essay topic. We are looking for creative and positive responses that represent the great opportunities and people here in New Brunswick. We encourage students to have fun with this initiative!

The awards will be presented later in June and applications are due by 11:59 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023.

The Fr. Nicholas J. Power Memorial Scholarship is open by application to all eligible students from the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes – Miramichi (St. Patrick’s, Most Pure Heart of Mary, & St. Edward’s) who are receiving their high school diploma in June 2023.

Applicants must be planning to pursue post–secondary studies/training within the next school year (2023–2024). Applicants must provide the scholarship selection committee with:

1) A copy of their acceptance letter to a post–secondary program issued by the University/College/Institution.

2) A brief description about how the applicant has been active within the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes (St. Patrick’s, MPHM, or St. Edward’s).

3) Two letters of reference. (Offered by non–family members who have known the applicant for at least two years, and must indicate in what capacity.)

Please submit application to the parish office no later than Friday, May 26th, 2023. Note: The recipient of the scholarship will receive payment once they have provided proof of enrollment and after completion of their first term in the post–secondary program.

*Willing to expand beyond parish if another student shows involvement in their own church (Catholic or non-Catholic).

The City of Miramichi Inside Workers CUPE Local 3863 has (1) bursary valued at $500.00 in memory of John James Bryenton. The bursary is for the students' first year attendance at any university, college, or community college. Preference will be given to sons and daughters or legal wards of members of CUPE Local 3863. Basis of award is marks, aptitude, promise and financial need. Application forms are available from members of the Education Committee of Local 3863 or your high school guidance counsellor.

2.      Essay—500 Words—Stating why the applicant is interested in going into a trades/technology field.

  • $500.00 bursaries are awarded to successful applicants.

  • Bursaries are awarded based on financial need, with special consideration given to children and grandchildren of Veterans.

If you are a successful applicant, you will receive a letter of offer in mid to late August. Read carefully and follow the instructions. If you accept the offer of the Bursary the cheque will be made payable to, and mailed directly to, the University, College, etc. that you have chosen to attend. You will also be required to provide a copy of the “notice of acceptance” at the University, College, etc. that you will be attending.

Lee Johnston Ltd. is offering a $500 Scholarship to a grade 12 student in good academic standing, who has been accepted into a forestry program. Preference will be given to Forestry Students.

Applications must include:

  2. Transcript of Marks
  3. Essay – 250 Words

Completed applications must be returned to Miramichi Valley High School Main Office by 3pm on May 19th, 2023 for consideration. Prior to selection, applicants will have an interview with Lee Johnston.

Volunteer Miramichi Inc. is pleased to offer a Bursary to a high school student enrolled in a post-secondary program in the Fall of 2023.

This $500 bursary will reward a student who has made an outstanding contribution to the community, without any monetary reward.  The recipient will be selected on the basis of volunteer experience and academic standing.

Eligibility

To qualify, student must:

·        Be actively committed to volunteerism; outside of school, and have a record from the organization presented with their bursary application.

·        Be enrolled in a post-secondary program during the 2023-2024 academic year.

·        Have a written specific circumstance, telling of a volunteer experience they have encountered.

·        Have a letter of recommendation from high school Principal, Guidance Counsellor, or Teacher.

Environmental Services Association Maritimes Scholarship Program--To Provide a $500 scholarship to three deserving high school graduates intending to pursue a post-secondary education in a science or environmental program.  Three scholarships will be awarded, one in each Maritime province.

Criteria:

·         Applicant must be a resident of the Maritimes

·         Applicant must be a graduating high school senior and be accepted to attend a post-secondary institution in the year of award.

 ·         Applicant must be furthering their education in a science or environmental field of study.

Please include with your application:

 ·         Completed Application Form

 ·         Proof of Acceptance to a Post-Secondary Institution

 ·         Letter of recommendation from a teacher or community member

 ·         A 250-500 word essay explaining why you have chosen to pursue an education in the science/environmental field.

Eligibility Criteria:

• This Scholarship is offered to a student who is furthering his Agricultural Education at a University (or) College.

• Available for students whose parents are (or) were a registered growers with Potatoes New Brunswick.

• Applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis and provide a copy of enrollment from College (or) University.

How to Apply:

• Applicant must submit there application to: gfpotato@potatoesnb.com before July 31st, 2023.

• Please include - your name, address, High School diploma year and School attended - name of parents (Farms name with Potatoes NB registration forms) - courses intented to be taken - Explain how this degree will be used in the agricultural sector - copy of enrollment acceptance.
