Lee Johnston Ltd. is offering a $500 Scholarship to a grade 12 student in good academic standing, who has been accepted into a forestry program.  Preference will be given to Forestry Students.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Transcript of Marks

3.      Essay – 250 Words

Completed applications must be returned to Miramichi Valley High School Main Office by 3pm on May 17th, 2024 for consideration.  Prior to selection, applicants will have an interview with Lee Johnston.

The Fr. Nicholas J. Power Memorial Scholarship is open by application to all eligible students from the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes – Miramichi (St. Patrick’s, Most Pure Heart of Mary, & St. Edward’s) who are receiving their high school diploma in June 2024. Applicants must be planning to pursue post–secondary studies/training within the next school year (2024–2025).

Applicants must provide the scholarship selection committee with:

1) A copy of their acceptance letter to a post–secondary program issued by the University/College/Institution.

2) A brief description about how the applicant has been active within the parish of Our Lady of Lourdes (St. Patrick’s, MPHM, or St. Edward’s).

3) Two letters of reference. (Offered by non–family members who have known the applicant for at least two years, and must indicate in what capacity.)

Please submit application to the parish office no later than Friday, May 31, 2024.

Note: The recipient of the scholarship will receive payment once they have provided proof of enrollment and after completion of their first term in the post–secondary program.

A $250 bursary will be offered to a grade 12 student who is considering a career in nursing (RN or LPN), or paramedic.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Answer the following questions and attach to the application.

·         Why did you choose a career in the health care profession?

·         Do you have a role model or experiences that have drawn you to this career?

·         What characteristics do you feel are most important in this field?

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 17th, 2024 for consideration.

A $1000 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is pursuing post-secondary (college/university) education. Preference will be given to someone entering a trade or technology program.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Essay—500 Words—Stating why the applicant is interested in going into a trades/technology field.  

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 17th, 2024 for consideration. 

Note : Please include the following with your application :

1. A transcript of your marks.

2. A list of three references and their contact information.

3. Letter of acceptance to post-secondary institution.

A $1000 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is attending a recognized post-secondary institution.

Criteria:

·         Completed Application

·         Graduating from Miramichi Valley High School.

·   Applicants must have contributed to the social setting and the positive environment of the school or community, show concern for others, and have a good work ethic. Please include a one-page write-up outlining your contributions to the school or community.

·         Consideration of financial need.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 17th, 2024, for consideration.

A $100 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is considering a career in nursing, psychology, or social work.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Essay—500 Words—Stating why the applicant is interested in going into a ‘helping profession’.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 17th, 2024 for consideration. 

 

A $500 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student whose parents are members of ATV Club #18.

 

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 17th, 2024, for consideration. 

The scholarship application must be completed online at Application Form Management (thenbccfoundationinc.ca) by . One graduate from each high school will be awarded this $1000 scholarship each year.

The selection criteria is based on:

Academic Record (40%)

Extracurricular Activities (30%)

Financial Need (30%)

To: Officials who will be graduating grade 12 and will be attending a registered postsecondary educational institution this fall.

Re: NBHOA Academic Scholarships The NBHOA now awards four (4) academic scholarships, they are named after long time NBHOA officials & directors Jean-Marie Albert, Paul O’Blenis Memorial, Sonny McLellan Memorial and Scott McKay Memorial each for the value of $1000.00 each.

To be eligible to receive one of these scholarships you must be an NBHOA Official in good standing, a grade 12 student who is graduating and attending a recognized postsecondary institution in the upcoming year. To apply for the Scholarship, please submit the following;

- Completed Application Form

- Copy of your high school transcript from this year

- Confirmation that you are enrolled/accepted in a post-secondary school for the upcoming year

- Applicant must submit a 500-word essay (double-spaced) to the Selection Committee.

The essay should explain how officiating has impacted their life, and please provide examples outlining any community involvement (volunteering, extra-curricular, etc.). If selected, the cheque will be issued directly to the recognized post-secondary institution you will be attending in your name in the month of September. Please fill out the attached form and return all material by email before May 1st, 2024.

The Irving Oil Aviation Scholarships enable students to pursue a post-secondary education leading to excellence within the aviation or aerospace sector. This year, NBAM will award $2,500.00 scholarships to two students to offset post-secondary education expenses and encourage further education in the aviation or aerospace sector.

 Successful candidates must be pursuing a recognized post-secondary undergraduate program of study relevant to the aviation and/or aerospace sector.

All applicants must be enrolled in an approved program or institution in Atlantic Canada. For high school students, proof of acceptance into an approved educational program is required.

Applications must be received by NBAM-Irving Oil Aviation Scholarship Selection Committee no later than May 31, 2024 @4:00pm.

Eligibility Criteria:

• This Scholarship is offered to a student who is furthering his Agricultural Education at a University (or) College.

• Available for students whose parents are (or) were a registered growers with Potatoes New Brunswick.

• Applicants must be enrolled on a full-time basis and provide a copy of enrollment from College (or) University.

How to Apply:

• Applicant must submit there application to: gfpotato@potatoesnb.com before July 31st, 2023.

• Please include - your name, address, High School diploma year and School attended - name of parents (Farms name with Potatoes NB registration forms) - courses intended to be taken - Explain how this degree will be used in the agricultural sector - copy of enrollment acceptance.

The City of Miramichi Inside Workers CUPE Local 3863 has (1) bursary valued at $500.00 in memory of John James Bryenton. The bursary is for the students' first year attendance at any university, college, or community college. Preference will be given to sons and daughters or legal wards of members of CUPE Local 3863.

Basis of award is marks, aptitude, promise and financial need.

Application forms are available from members of the Education Committee of Local 3863 or your high school guidance counsellor. The application must be returned to the Education Committee of Local 3863 no later than May 10, 2024.

Applications may be mailed to the address below or emailed to cupe3863.president@gmail.com. Successful applicants will be notified as soon as possible. The cheque will be awarded upon verification of attendance at the university, college or community college.
