James A. Whitebone Memorial Scholarships James A. Whitebone Memorial Scholarship:  These two scholarships are available to students entering their first year of post secondary studies. Eligible are members, or their children, who belong to local unions affiliated with the NBFL.   The deadline for applications is June 30th of each year.

Tim McCarthy Environment Prize Tim McCarthy Environment Prize:  This prize is open to NBFL members or their children, who are pursuing higher education in fields relating to environmental protection and education. Applicants may be in their first or subsequent years of post secondary studies.   The application deadline is June 30th of each year.

NBFL Solidarity Bursaries NBFL Solidarity Bursaries:  These two bursaries are open to any person regardless of union membership pursuing post secondary education full-time or enrolled in high school at the grade 12 level. Funded by AIL Canada, a unionized insurance provider, these two bursaries serve to promote greater awareness and understanding of the value of unions.   The deadline for entries is June 30th of each year.

Your Favorite CAr Scholarship $500 Deadline April 30th

The City of Miramichi Inside Workers CUPE Local 3863 has 1 bursary valued at $500 in memory of John James Bryenton to be awarded to a student entering university, college, or community college. The basis of the award is marks, aptitude, promise, and financial need. Preference will be given to sons and daughters or legal wards of members of CUPE Local 3863.

Co-op Atlantic – McEwen Scholarships   The Board of Directors of Co-op Atlantic awards two McEwen Scholarships annually. Worth,  $1,000 and renewable for four years to a maximum value of $4,000, a scholarship will be awarded in each of the following categories:        Member or dependent of a member, of a member co-operative of Co-op Atlantic.      Full-time or part-time employee or dependent of a full-time employee, of Co-op      Atlantic or one of its member co-operatives.   Deadline- Friday, March 14

Dialogue New Brunswick Scholarship

Dialogue New Brunswick is offering two $1,000 scholarships to grade 12 students who will have graduated high school within the Anglophone Sector of the New Brunswick Department of Education as well as two $1,000 scholarships to grade 12 students who will have graduated high school within the Francophone Sector of the New Brunswick Deparment of Education. Eligibility All grade 12 students who are currently enrolled in a New Brunswick high school and who can demonstrate acceptance in a post-secondary institution are eligible. Application Dialogue New Brunswick fosters understanding, respect and appreciation between English-speaking and French-speaking New Brunswickers. The candidate must complete the application form and describe the nature of his/her extracurricular activities and/or community involvement and explain how this involvement promotes the values of mutual understanding, respect and appreciation between New Brunswick’s two official language communities (250 to 400 words maximum). Deadline: April 18, 2014
