This award is valued at $1000.  The recipient must reside in the Douglastown service area.  The selection is based on financial need and character. Applications are due to the MVHS main office by 3:00pm on Monday, May 15th, 2023.

MVHS is allowed to nominate one student to apply for a Joyce Foundation Bursary. If you plan to attend UNB in the fall of 2023, and would like to put your name forward to be considered for this scholarship, please let Ms. O’Donnell know by next Wednesday, March 22nd, 2023.

See bursary criteria below:  

 

               Bursaries will be awarded based on financial need and personal circumstances;

               Students must be enrolled in a full-time undergraduate program of study at UNB;

               Renewal is based on maintaining good academic standing (minimum assessment year GPA of 2.0);

               Recipient must commit to work with at least one mentor in an extracurricular activity throughout their program of study;

               Bursaries awarded are to be applied against tuition and ancillary fees.

DAIRY FARMERS OF NEW BRUNSWICK MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick is offering a $1000 Entrance Scholarship in memory of individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the dairy industry in New Brunswick. It is hoped that the young men and women who benefit from this scholarship will become tomorrow’s contributors to agriculture in this province.

Qualification Requirements:

 ¨ Applicant must be a resident of the province of New Brunswick.

 ¨ Applicant must be enrolled in a university degree program related to agriculture or the dairy industry, including but not necessarily limited to plant and animal science, agricultural engineering, veterinary science, agricultural economists, etc.

¨ Applicant must be entering first year of study in an approved university degree program. All

 ¨ Completed Application form;

¨ A 300-500 word essay concerning the applicant’s future plans and how they relate to the agricultural industry;

¨ Two letters of recommendation from teachers;

¨ A transcript of marks.

¨ Applicant must be a resident of the province of New Brunswick.

¨ First-year applicants must be accepted in an approved technician or technology program in order to be considered.

¨ Applicant may be entering any year of a Technician or Technology diploma or Certification program relating to Agriculture or Dairy at college, including (but not limited to) plant and animal science, farm management, farm technology, field technology, etc.

 

All Applications Must Include:

¨ Completed Application form;

¨ A 300-500 word essay concerning the applicant’s future plans and how they relate to the agricultural industry;

GEORGE B. WHALEN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

Dairy Farmers of New Brunswick is offering a $1000 scholarship in memory of George B. Whalen, who dedicated a great part of his life to the promotion of a more viable dairy industry in New Brunswick. It is hoped that the young men and women who benefit from this scholarship will become tomorrow's contributors to agriculture in this province.

Qualification Requirements:

¨ Applicant must be a resident of the province of New Brunswick.

¨ Applicant must be enrolled in a university degree program related to agriculture or the dairy industry, including but not necessarily limited to plant and animal science, agricultural engineering, veterinary science, agricultural economists, etc.

¨ Applicant must be entering second, third or fourth year of study in an approved university degree program.

The Award and Application Process The IWK Foundation invites applications for the Robbie and Jean Shaw Scholarship. This award consists of a scholarship valued at minimum $2,000. Eligible applicants are current or former IWK patients who have an academic average of 75% or higher and who are entering their first year of post-secondary studies.
Applicants must submit :
  • a minimum 500 word essay answering the following question: How has your experience at the IWK impacted your life and shaped your goals for the future? Please include the following points in your essay: • Why the IWK is special to you • Your community involvement and/or volunteer work • Your goals for the future • How the scholarship will make a difference for you In addition,
  • a recent transcript
  • two personal references—one from a teacher and one from a representative at the IWK who is familiar with their care journey. Deadline: Monday, April 10, 2023

The bursary will be awarded based on educational achievement and financial need. In order to qualify for the Lorraine- LeBlanc Bursary, you must:
  • Have a “LeBlanc” surname;
  • Be registered as a full-time student at a college or university in New Brunswick ;
  • Demonstrate above average educational achievement during the last year of study;
  • and Require financial assistance in order to pursue your post-secondary education. An application form for this bursary can be found on our website, at www.assumption.ca. Applications will be accepted until September 30th of the current year

Schulich Leader Scholarships are prestigious entrance scholarships awarded to high school graduates enrolling in a STEM program at one of 20 Canadian partner universities. These scholarships are valued between $100,000 and $120,000. If you would like to be considered for nomination, please give your name to Ms. O’Donnell by Friday, January 20th, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria:

·         graduate in June 2023

·         be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident

·         plan to enroll in an eligible STEM program at a partner university and meet the following criteria:

o   academic excellence

o   leadership, charisma and creativity

o   strong consideration will be given to students with financial need

·         be entrepreneurial-minded and intend to pursue a career in one or more of the following areas:

Ø  technology

Ø  engineering

Ø  entrepreneurship and business enterprise

Ø  applied scientific research

Students considering futures in the following fields will not be considered:

Ø  focus on activism (environmental/political/societal

Ø  intend to become a practicing physician and/or medical researcher (e.g. Doctor, Dentist, Nurse, Psychologist, Pharmacist, Optometrist, etc.)

Ø  Intend to become a professor and conduct theoretical research
