A $250 bursary will be offered to a grade 12 student who is attending a recognized post-secondary institution in the fall.

Criteria:

·         Completed Application

·         Graduating from Miramichi Valley High School.

·         Applicants must:

§  give back to the community through music

§  high academic achievement

§  be involved in extracurricular activities (especially drama, music, dance)

§  excellent attendance at school

Completed applications must be returned to the main office by 3pm on Thursday, June 1st, 2023, for consideration.

The scholarship application must be completed online at Application Form Management (thenbccfoundationinc.ca) by May 27th, 2023. One graduate from each high school will be awarded this $1000 scholarship each year. The selection criteria is based on:
Academic Record (40%)
Extracurricular Activities (30%)
Financial Need (30%)

Eligibility: 1. Successful graduation from James M. Hill Memorial High School or Miramichi Valley High School

2. A former registered player for the TMBA or Miramichi Hoops

3. Pursuing post-secondary studies

The River Hoops Basketball Association Bursary will be awarded annually to four graduating TMBA and River Hoops basketball players who best demonstrate the positive qualities inherent as an ambassador for the sport of basketball, and for our programs.

Hand in to the main office by 3:15pm, Friday, May 19th, 2023.

Attached please find attached the application for the local scholarships & bursaries. Please fill out all sections of the application carefully. If you have not already handed in acceptance letters/scholarship offers for post-secondary institutions, they must be attached to the application as well.
The M Award application is attached at the end for those students who made a significant contribution to MVHS. Please note that a 250 word essay justifying your nomination must be attached. 
There are paper copies available at the main office. 
Deadline is Friday, May26th by 3:15pm.

 

·         Completed application.

·         A motivational letter outlining your reasons for application, goals and relevant background.

·         A recommendation letter from your Educational Sponsor

·         An up-to-date transcript of your academic record and confirmation of enrolment at a post-secondary institution

·         A resume.

Deadline to apply is May 23rd, 2023.

1. A transcript of your marks.

2. A list of three references and their contact information.

3. Letter of acceptance to post-secondary institution.

The Miramichi Boys & Girls Club Bursary is valued at $2000. Financial need is the only criteria. If you would like to be considered for this bursary, please give your name to Ms. O'Donnell by Friday, May 19th, 2023.

Sheena Hudson Memorial Scholarship

 

A $250 Scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is considering a career in nursing, psychology or social work.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Essay—500 Words—Stating why the applicant is interested in going into a ‘helping profession’.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on May 19th, 2023 for consideration.

Applications must include:

1.      Completed Application

2.      Answer the following questions and attach to the application.

·         Why did you choose a career in the health care profession?

·         Do you have a role model or experiences that have drawn you to this career?

·         What characteristics do you feel are most important in this field?

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on May 19th, 2023 for consideration. 

A $1000 scholarship will be offered to a grade 12 student who is attending a recognized post-secondary institution.

Criteria:

·         Completed Application

·         Graduating from Miramichi Valley High School.

·         Applicants must have contributed to the social setting and the positive environment of the school or community, show concern for others, and have a good work ethic. Please include a one-page write-up outlining your contributions to the school or community.

·         Consideration of financial need.

Completed applications must be returned to the main office or Ms. O’Donnell by 3pm on Friday, May 19th, 2023, for consideration.
