Yesterday students practiced labelling their triangle and finding all 3 primary trig ratios. Today we looked at how all 3 trig ratios lead to the same angle when we solve for the missing angle. Tonight for homework students are expected to choose the one primary trig ratio they will need to find theta, and then solve for the missing angle.All overdue assignments are due by Thursday at the latest!Lesson is attached.

Today we practiced parallel line theorems. Students were given examples to work on in class and other questions to work on for homework. The warm-up question we worked on is attached. If anyone was not here today to get the sheets they can do any of the practice questions on either side of their long sheet from last night.

I apologize for my recent lack of acitivity on my teacher page. In GMF10 we have finished our unit on mass, temperature, and volume conversions. We have started our new unit on angles and parallel lines. Some terminology the students should know and be able to apply are : acute, right, obtuse, straight, reflex, true bearing, angle, angle measure, angle referents (0, 45, 90, 180, and 360 degrees).We worked on estimating angles using the angle referents that we should know. We practiced finding true bearings from one location to another (always measuring the angle from North, clockwise to our destination). Students should have an understanding of a compass and be able to label one to help them determine a bearing.We worked on constructing perpendicular bisectors, angle bisectors, and angle replicates with a straight edge (ruler) and compass. All students should have a booklet with step-by-step instructions and examples.Students had a small quiz yesterday on these constructions and then we began reviewing geometric theorems. The ones discussed yesterday were: triangle angle sum theorem, isosceles triangle theorem, and complementary/supplementary angles. We did a couple examples in class and students were assigned some homework questions. This lesson is attached.Today we will be looking at parallel line theorems and working on some practice questions with those.

P1- Continued to practice converting between degrees Celsius and Fahreneit.P2/4- Continued to review slopes and proportions. Students completed an in-class assignment. If they did not get it done they should hand it in Tuesday.P6- Quick review of temperatures and started to talk about mass conversions. Today we looked at mass in the imperial system. Students should have copied the two conversions we learned about today and started their homework. Everything is attached in this note.

All those who have not yet started, or just need to finish their test from yesterday will be required to write their test tomorrow (Wednesday) at lunch. Come to my class at the beginning of lunch (bring food with you) prepared to write.All students should have a working calculator. This course will be very difficult without one. Notes from today are attached and are the same for Period 1.
