With the first week of school behind us, I would like to take the time to welcome all parents and students back for another year.
The vital role of parents, guardians and families in the education of their children cannot be underestimated. The support you provide to your children and their school helps create a positive culture which contributes to the success of every student.
Practices will begin this week after school, and will be held each weekday, except Fridays. Practice time will begin at 3:30pm, at the gym entrance, and will be completed by 4:30pm.
There are 4 categories and distances:
Jr. Girls – 3km Jr. Boys - 4km Sr. Girls – 4km Sr. Boys – 5km
Junior divisions include students in grades 9 and 10; seniors divisions include those in grades 11 and 12.
The Zones will take place at Ironmen field in Chatham being hosted by JMH.

The student council fee is forty dollars. It includes a student identification card, student handbook, exam booklet fee, and locker rental. Fees may be paid on Wednesday, August 31st from 9am to 12 noon in the main lobby or during the first week of school. Cheques should be made payable to MVHS Student Council. Please indicate the student's name on the reference line of the cheque and exact amount only.
The MVHS Drama Club will be presenting a summer production of Joseph Kesselring's classic Broadway comedy Arsenic & Old Lace August 10-13, 2011. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at Books Inn or at the door. Showtime is 7PM. Please come out and support the Drama Club.
We would like to wish our students and staff a well deserved Summer Break. Congrats again to our class or 2011. We'll see you at the Canada Day Parade taking place on Friday, July 1 starting at 1:00pm.

Yearbooks will be available for sale in Room 2222 throughout the week for $42. Ms. Graves will be there whenever she is not supervising exams. Get yourself a book before they are all gone!World Yearbooks are also available for $4. These are great keepsakes. They contain lots of information about world events from 2010-2011.
A group of Miramichi Valley High School English students have successfully completed a project of making persuasive presentations to decision makers resulting in a significant improvement in access to one of Miramichi West’s most frequently used public entrances …. the doorways leading to the gymnasium and pool area of MVHS.
