The 2011 grad fee is seventy dollars. There will be a ten dollar discount for those students who do not attend the prom.  This fee must be paid in order to participate in the graduation activities.  The fee must be paid by Friday, May 27.  An additional five dollars will be charged for those students who do not meet the deadline.  The final date that the graduation fee will be accepted is June 10, 2011.  If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Hudson.   The 2011 safe grad fee is five dollars and the deadline to pay the fee is Friday, May 27.

There will be a parent/guardian information meeting (for parents/guardians of potential graduates) on Thursday, May 26 at 7pm in room 5104.  A grad newsletter will be available.  The newsletter is also available on the school website.

Congratulations to the winners of the MVHS Oratory Competition: Kathleen MacMillan (first place), Christina Hubbard (second place), and Caden Bass (third place). Kathleen and Christina went on to the District 16 competition on Friday, May 13, and Kathleen placed third with her speech about the need for a city sportsdome. Congratulations!  Please check out the photo gallery for a few pictures.

  At the year-end Mount Allison annual Athletic Awards Night, Miramichi Valley resident Meghan Dickie was honoured as the University’s 2010-11 Female Athlete of the Year. Dickie was also recognized as her basketball team’s MVP and as a 2011 Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) All-Canadian. She was also the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association (ACAA) most valuable player for the 2010-11 season.   Dickie who led her team to another ACAA conference championships playoffs scored an average of 17.9 points per game, good enough for a third-place ranking nationally.

The MVHS Staff have put together a cookbook of favorite recipes from MVHS staff members.  This venture is in support of the MVHS Grad Class bursaries.  Cookbooks can be purchased at the main office for $10.  We hope you enjoy.

The Tim Horton's Safe Grad Community Clean Up will be held at the three Tim Horton's locations on this side of the river on May 7 from 11:00-1:00.  A barbecue will follow at the downtown and Douglastown locations. This event will be held rain or shine.  All money raised goes to safe grad.  Everyone is welcome to come out and support our grads!
