Complete for tomorrow:   The Old Man and the Sea  pages 9-25   1. State the first line of the novel.  What does it say about the individual and the world? 2. What does “salao” mean? What role does it play in life? 3. Who is Santiago?  Describe him.. 4. How old was the young boy when Santiago first took him on a boat? Describe the relationship between Santiago and Manolin. 5.
