Close Reading   1.         Who was Icarus?  Study the painting “Fall of Icarus” by Bruegal.  What is taking place?  How are the various characters in the painting acting?  Why are they behaving this way?  How do the themes of the painting connect to the short story ‘A Drowning’?   2.           Read the poem ‘Musee des Beaux Arts’ by W.H. Do not forget your Article of the Week due Friday.   We started our analysis project today on the short story, the painting, and the three poems.  Group members are responsible to complete their portion.  We will be working on it in class on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.  The completed project is due on Tuesday October 2nd.
