Today we started in on Unit 2 - Ecology and Ecosytems.  I handed out some notes on the 'Organization of Life' as well as descriptions of the '11 Organ Systems' of the human body.  We started watching the videos on the development stages of the human body but we only got to part 2.  May continue tomorrow...  I handed back the test and marks have been updated online. HW:  Work on Eco-Challenges and continue researching your topic.

Today we finished up our discussion of Darwin and his ideas on evolution.  Watched some videos on:  Darwin's finched, the wonders of the islands he explored and a video/song that reviews evolution...links are in the lesson.  I have included some review questions along with a crossword to review terminology.  Check out Ms. Sherrard's homepage for the solutions... HW:  UNIT TEST will be on Thursday

Today we are in the library researching a chosen topic (ideas were suggested last Friday).  In this lesson you will find the library plan (must be completed and passed in on Monday), a list of links for resources available online for researching and an interactive website link that discusses how effectively research online.  Continue to work on your Eco-Challenge ideas...

We finished our investigation (More is Less), watched part of the biography of Charles Darwin and looked into some key terms with evolution.  HW:  Read Case Study on Charles Darwin's Voyage and prepare for researching your topic at the library tomorrow.

Today we were at the library...I have attached the journal entry that is due by Monday.  Print off your ecological footprint and pass it in too.  Begin researching an environmental issue...I have attached some ideas.

Reminder that Wednesday is the deadline for any course logo eco-challenge. Eco-challenge Idea:  Find an article on a 'local' environmental issue to be displayed on the class bulletin board.  You must include a brief summary (typed) with the article.  5 points (max is 2)
