Science 9 - Students reviewed material from their projects they worked on last week. Students began looking at the carbon cycle today in class and 2 homework questions were assigned. Biology 112 - Students started looking at vertebrates today after having time to complete their grasshopper labs in class. Students can expect a quiz tomorrow at the start of class.

Science 9 - Students continued working on their projects involving classifying organisms today in class. They will continue working on these tomorrow.   Biology 112 - Students continued learning about arthropods today in class. Students will get an opportunity to dissect a grasshopper tomorrow in class. This will finish up our examination of invertebrates and we will be moving onto vertebrates starting next week.

Science 9 - Students had their homework questions checked and gone over. Students then watched a film and answered questions that connected the film to how some humans view the environment. These were completed in class. No homework assigned.   Biology 112 - Students learned about annelids today in class. The earthworm dissection will take place on Monday. Students are to review the lab assignment over the weekend.

Science 9 - Students started the ecology unit today in class. Students read a short section on pages 20-21 and were asked to answer questions 1 & 3 on page 21 and another question from class. Students now have copies of the grade 9 and 10 science textbooks. Students only need to bring the science 10 textbook with them to class until exam reviews start. Students are asked to keep the science 9 textbook in a safe place as not to lose it.   Biology 112 - Students learned about the phylum platyhelminthes and phylum nematoda today in class. Students will have another warmup tomorrow, followed by a section on the phylum annelida. Earthworm dissections will take place on Monday.

Science 9 - Students wrote a test on Chapters 6 & 7 today. They will be starting the ecosystems unit tomorrow.   Biology 112 - Students learned about the phylum Porifera (sponges) and the phylum Cnidaria (jellyfish, corals, etc.) today in class. Students can expect a "warmup" at the start of class tomorrow.

Science 9 - Students had their homework from the weekend corrected. Students then started work on their test review for chapters 6 and 7. The test will be on Wednesday.   Biology 112 - Students wrote their midterms today. Students will start examining the animal kingdom tomorrow in class.

Science 9 - Students had an opportunity to finish their assignments today. Those who didn't must hand them in on Monday. Students then learned about flowering plants. This was the last topic being covered in the reproduction unit. Students can expect a test during the middle of next week.   Biology 112 - Students worked on reviewing for their test today in class. Midterm is on Monday and the review is posted on the website. Students with any questions can either email me over the weekend or see me Monday at the start of lunch.
