All clasess had progress reports sent home today. Be sure to sign and detach the bottom so it can be returned.
Science 9 - Students finished learning about the Big Bang Theory today in class. Students were assigned a section out of the textbook to read and questions to answer. Many students were able to do this in class but those who did not are required to complete it for homework. The section goes from pages 488-490 and the questions are 1 - 3 on page 490. Students should make notes on the section as well.
Biology 112 - Homework was checked and the answers have been posted. Students started working today on a poster assignment involving photosynthesis or cellular respiration. Students will have Mondays class and potentially Tuesdays class to finish the assignment. The test on photosynthesis and cellular respiration will take place next Wednesday provided there are no cancelations.

Science 9 - Students finished working in their jigsaw groups then began looking at the formation of the planets. One homework question was given and it is as follows:
What are the three main stages of the formation of the solar system? The answer can be found on page 472 (section 15.2).
Biology 112 - Students finished looking at photosynthesis and were given a short assignment that is due tomorrow recapping photosynthesis. Most students were able to finish it in class. We started examining cellular respiration today in class and will continue looking at it tomorrow.

Science 9 - Students had homework checked from the previous night and were then put into groups for a jigsaw activity. The groups covered material from section 15.1 in their textbooks. Students also got their test marks today and will get their tests back once all students have finished writing them. Homework was to finish up their sections for the jigsaw activity which most were able to do in class.
Biology 112 - Homework was checked from the previous day. Students got back their tests today and there will be a make up test given tomorrow at the start of lunch. Students have been told how the marks from the makeup test will work. We began looking at photosynthesis in detail today with an emphasis on the light dependent reactions of photosynthesis. Students were given hand outs and shown a short animation on the topic. Link is posted below along with another link donated by Mr. Svarc. Students will see this tomorrow in class.

Science 9 - Students examined some other objects in the universe such as galaxies today in class. Students were assigned homework as well, questions 1 - 4 on page 463.
Biology 112 - Students got their test marks back today and will get the test back tomorrow. Students started looking at energy today and had their first look at photosynthesis. We will continue with photosynthesis tomorrow. Homework questions were assigned and they are as follows:
Questions 1 - 4 on page 203 & Questions 2 - 4 on page 207.

Science 9 - Students wrote their test on chapters 13 and 14 today in class.
Biology 112 - Students who were absent yesterday wrote their test today. The class watched an episode of the Life Documentary series about the challenges of life.

Science 9 - Students had a review class today. Test hints were given as well as textbook questions for students to work on. Those questions are posted below.

Science 9 - Students reviewed calculations using scientific notation and examined how long it would take to get to other objects in space using various transportation methods. Students also examined our sun and its effects on the Earth. There will be a test covering all material to date on Friday. Reviews will be handed out tomorrow.
Biology 112 - Students reviewed today for their test tomorrow. Students also watched a video about diffusion and osmosis to further clarify the two processes. The link for the video is posted below. Test tomorrow.

Science 9 - Students watched a video today about space with an emphasis on distances in space and what a light year is. Students then worked on some scientific notation questions that will be used when looking at distances in space. Students can expect a test later this week, most likely on Thursday.
Biology 112 - Students finished looking at the different types of transport today in class. Students got their test review and tomorrow will be a review class. Test will take place on Wednesday.
Students who miss class need to get caught up on their own unless they have missed a significant (3+ days) amount of days consecutively. I will begin posting the note outlines on the website so students can get caught up using their textbooks or by borrowing another student's outline.
