We finished our discussion of Species at Risk (check out the notes). Watched some videos and checked out some websites on this theme (see links in the lesson). Discussed the test review and decided that Unit 2 test will be on MONDAY!Tomorrow I will go over questions and give answers to the review. Friday we will have a guest speaker...Tony VanBuskirk from Fornebu Lumber will be with us.HOMEWORK: Prepare for test...do the review!

Today we outlined 7 issues that affect natural cycles and discussed them. We focused on Radioactive contamination since NB relies on this energy source from Point Lepreau in Saint John. The historic examples of nuclear disasters are Chernoboyl in Ukraine (1986) and Fukushima in Japan (2011). We watched a video about the Fukushima Disaster and took down 10 points for discussion...link is in the lesson.
Also gave out notes on all the cycles (see attached lesson) and promoted our new Facebook page!
HOMEWORK:
- continue to work on research paper and ecopoint activities
- begin preparing for unit test (see lesson for review)
