The application is attached. Criteria include being relatives of members of the Irish Canadian Cultural Association, and plan to attend a post secondary institution.  One grant of $500 will be awarded to a student from MVHS or JMH. Applications must be mailed to the address on the form by August 20th, 2018.

The general purpose of the program is to assist kidney patients and their family members to further their education and/or training.  Four awards of $500 each may be awarded each year.  Applications must be completed and emailed to kidneyatlantic@kidney.ca on or before June 15, 2018.

Applications must be received by the Trustees no later than June 1st of each year.

All students or one of his/her parents who are members of Beaubear Credit Union for 12 months preceding the application are eligible for the bursary.

The New Brunswick Public Colleges Entrance Scholarship is available for this academic year 2018-2019 for students who would like to attend New Brunswick Community College, the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design or the Collègecommunautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick

This year's program highlights the tie between agriculture and food by offering scholarships to students entering both agriculture and food-related studies. Each scholarship is valued at $1500 and will be awarded to students who meet the criteria set out in the application form.  An application form is attached and is due along with an application essay no later than May 31, 2018.

Now in its seventh year, Schulich Leader Scholarships have provided this life-changing opportunity to 270 students across Canada.



 



     

Queen’s University Accelerated Route to Medical School (QuARMS) is a unique initiative where 10 extraordinary high school students be prepared to start medical school after two years of undergraduate arts, science or computing.  This means they can receive a Queen’s MD just six years after finishing high school.  This is the only accelerated program in Canada and does not require to students to complete the MCAT.  Students must have a high school average of 90% or above and be nominated by their school. Applicants must complete an admission application for one Queen’s University’s undergraduate honours programs (Bachelor of Arts (QA), Science (QS) or Computing (QD) through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC).  https://www.ouac.on.ca/by mid-November to ensure they have access to the online Major Admission Award application on the Queen’s student portal (SOLUS).  Find out more about this program at meds.queensu.ca/quarms

University of Guelph—offers 12 scholarships valued at $42, 000 each and includes a research assistant position and mentorship by one of Guelph’s leading professors.  These scholarships reward top students from across the nation and recognize academic excellence, innovation, community and school engagement, and leadership.  Students must achieve a 90% admission average to apply for these awards.

The scholarships are as follows:

  • 8 President’s Scholarships, established to recognize students academic distinction who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities and demonstrate the potential to become leaders.

  • 2 Lincoln Alexander Scholarships, established in hour of the Honourable Lincoln Alexander, Chancellor Emeritus of the University of Guelph and former Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, on the occasion of his 80th birthday.  The awards recognize students of academic distinction who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities and demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society.  At the Chancellor’s request, these scholarships will be awarded to enhance student diversity on campus with a focus on Aboriginal (First Nations, Inuit and Metis); or a person with a disability; or a racialized person.

  • 2 Chancellor’s Scholarships established in honour of the current and past chancellors of the University of Guelph to recognize students of academic distinction who have made significant contributions to their schools and their communities and who demonstrate the potential to become leaders in society.  These scholarships will be awarded to students who have taken a leadership role in activities that demonstrate an interest in international relations and development and/or an interest in activities relating to arts and culture.

Students are required to submit an online application, no later than January 25, 2018, that will be comprised of: the student information data (application form); a letter from the student applicant; a biographical listing of the applicant’s school and community engagement and leadership for the past three years; two letters of reference; an official transcript.

The D & R Sobey Atlantic Scholarship—up to 8 awards are given out and are valued at $80 000 ($20 000 x 4 years).  Students must apply by submitting a Queen’s University Major Admission Award Application on SOLUS.  Application deadline is December 1, 2017. queensu.ca/studentawards  

Applicants who are residents of the Atlantic provinces entering the first year of the undergraduate Commerce Program at Queen’s University and meet the following criteria may apply:

  • Demonstrated academic excellence.

  • Proven leadership and involvement in school or community activities.

  • Must be entering first year Queen’s undergraduate Commerce program.

  • Must be a resident and student of one of the Atlantic provinces.

Five $50 bursaries for female graduates of 2017 throughout the Miramichi area.  You must attend an area high school and be the daughter, sister, niece or granddaughter of a WOMEN member.  Application deadline is June 13, 2017.
