MindCare Scholarship

MindCare New Brunswick is pleased to offer 5 scholarships, each in the amount of $2,000 to New Brunswick students. Applicants will be, or intend to be in full-time attendance at a post-secondary education program recognized by the MindCare New Brunswick Committee with plans to pursue a career in the mental health services field.

Guidelines

While the following circumstances are not necessarily restrictive, they will be taken into consideration for each applicant:

· Academic ability

· Plans for continued education

· Community and school participation

· Plans for the future

· Need of financial assistance

Deadline

The closing date for submission of application forms for this scholarship, along with all relevant supporting documentation required by the MindCare Committee, will be May 1st of each year.

Beaubear Credit Union Founders Scholarship

Applications must be received by the Trustees no later than June 1st of each year.

All students or one of his/her parents who are members of Beaubear Credit Union for 12 months preceding the application are eligible for the bursary.

The New Brunswick Public Colleges Entrance Scholarship

The New Brunswick Public Colleges Entrance Scholarship is available for this academic year 2018-2019 for students who would like to attend New Brunswick Community College, the New Brunswick College of Craft and Design or the Collègecommunautaire du Nouveau-Brunswick.

Value: $1,000

Selection criteria are based on:

Ø Academic record (40%) Ø Extracurricular activities (30%) Ø Financial need (30%)

2018 Monsanto Fund Opportunity Scholarship Program

This year's program highlights the tie between agriculture and food by offering scholarships to students entering both agriculture and food-related studies. Each scholarship is valued at $1500 and will be awarded to students who meet the criteria set out in the application form. An application form is attached and is due along with an application essay no later than May 31, 2018.

Leader of the Pack Scholarship

This scholarship recognizes the contribution of our community builders of tomorrow. This scholarship is awarded annually and is valued at $2000. The deadline to apply is June 30, 2018.

Schulich Leader Scholarships

The information below pertains to the Schulich Leader Scholarships. There is a link explaining about the prestigious (STEM) scholarships. The school is permitted to nominate one student; if you would like to be considered as a nominee please see Mrs. McFarlane or Ms. O'Donnell by Friday, January 26th, 2018.

Queen's University Accelerated Route to Medical School (QuARMS)

Queen’s University Accelerated Route to Medical School (QuARMS) is a unique initiative where 10 extraordinary high school students be prepared to start medical school after two years of undergraduate arts, science or computing. This means they can receive a Queen’s MD just six years after finishing high school. This is the only accelerated program in Canada and does not require to students to complete the MCAT. Students must have a high school average of 90% or above and be nominated by their school. Applicants must complete an admission application for one Queen’s University’s undergraduate honours programs (Bachelor of Arts (QA), Science (QS) or Computing (QD) through the Ontario Universities Application Centre (OUAC). https://www.ouac.on.ca/by mid-November to ensure they have access to the online Major Admission Award application on the Queen’s student portal (SOLUS).
