Hockey NB Scholarships

Scholarship applications will be considered for all three $1000.00cdn scholarships, provided the applicant meets the criteria listed below. *Only one complete application is required.

Jim Stirling Scholarship

B.F. Lorenzetti and Associates Inc. are the insurance brokers for Hockey Canada. In 1996, B.F. Lorenzetti began sponsoring a program for Hockey Canada that allows every Branch to present a bursary to a deserving hockey player.

Delta Fortis Properties Scholarship

Established in 2003 to recognize a Grade 12 student who has had hockey play a positive role in their life.

HNB Academic Scholarship in memory of Ron Bradbury

Established in 2002 to recognize the outstanding contribution of Ron Bradbury to the sport of hockey.

Criteria to apply for an HNB Scholarship:

Applicant must have been a Hockey New Brunswick member or associate member in the 2018-2019 hockey season (HNB player, NBIAA player or HNB Official).
Applicant must be under the age of 21 as of December 31^st of the current season.
Applicant must be graduating or must be a graduate who is pursuing post-secondary studies in 2019-2020.

How to Apply:

Applicant must send a 300 to 500-word essay (double-spaced) to the Selection Committee outlining their community involvement, as well as financial need. The essay should explain how hockey has impacted their life.
Provide a most recent record of academic transcript
Provide an athletic resumé (outline sports involvement by year)
Proof of post-secondary education acceptance letter

NB Ladies Auxiliary Bursary

A transcript of marks is needed to apply.

Special consideration will be given to Ladies Auxiliary Member’s children and grandchildren; Then to veterans and their grandchildren.
Should you be chosen as a recipient, it will be necessary to provide a photocopy of your acceptance to the University or Technical Institute of your choice.
Deadline date return of application is June 30^th.

Gerry Cormier Memorial Scholarship

Terms & Conditions of Eligibility

1. The program offers these scholarships to a student graduating from James M. Hill or Miramichi Valley High School and entering an accredited post-secondary institution.

2. A Scholarship Committee will meet in June each year to make the selections.

3. Selection will be based on academic standing, participation in school related activities, community service, character and financial need.

4. All decisions of the Committee will be final.

5. Payment of the award to one successful applicants will be made in the amount of $500 for each school mentioned above, upon proof of enrolment in an accredited post-secondary institution.

6. Please arrange to provide to us, separate from this application two (2) letters of reference – 1) academic 2) personal from non-relative

All inquiries should be addressed to the Guidance Counselor.

Application deadline is June 6th, 2018. Applications may be dropped off at the main office.

MVHS “M” Awards Application

If you wish to be considered for an MVHS “M” Award you must meet the following criteria:

1. You must be in the graduating class of 2018.

2. You must have made a significant contribution to MVHS in the area of Extra Curricular Athletics, Clubs or Student Council (you do not need to be involved with a group for the four years).

3. You must attach a 250 word essay justifying your nomination.

4.Your application must be returned to Mr. Jamieson no later than Friday, May 25^th, 2018

5. A committee will review all applications and select the award recipients. Not all applicants will necessarily qualify.

Lee Johnston Scholarship

Lee Johnston Ltd.

Application Form

Lee Johnston Ltd. is offering a $500 Scholarship to a grade 12 student in good academic standing, who has been accepted into a forestry program. Preference will be given to Forestry Students.

Applications must include:

Completed applications must be returned to Miramichi Valley High School Main Office by 3pm on May 25^th, 2018 for consideration. Prior to selection, applicants will have an interview with Lee Johnston.

Oulton Scholarship Deadline

Just a little friendly reminder that the deadline for the Oulton Memorial Scholarships is coming up next week on May 25^th. The application form is on our website. We give out 28 scholarships of $1,000 each year to students who are coming to Oulton and we would love to give one out to your school but they need to applyJ.
