Science 9 - Students started learning about space today. We covered what astronomy is, stars, constellations, and a little bit on planets. Students were assigned 4 questions on page 402 and will have time to finish questions tomorrow in class as I am still waiting on textbook returns from first semester.   Biology 112 - Students were introduced to the cell theory today and some components of life. We finished by looking at the surface area to volume ratio of cells and why they only grow to a certain size. Some students were confused so there will be a demo tomorrow to clear up any confusion. A website has also been posted on my main page to help with this. No homework.

Science 9 - Students were given theirn course outlines and a brief overview of the course. Expectations were explained to students and they were given an opportunity to ask questions about the course.   Biology 112 - Students were shown a copy of their course outline and it was gone over in detail. Expectations were explained to all students and they were given an opportunity to ask any questions about the course. Students were asked to read pages 3-7 and answer questions 2, 3, 5, and 6 on page 7 for homework if it was not complete in class.   If any student switches courses they are asked to bring back any textbooks that were signed out to them. Also, any students who were in my classes last semester are reminded to return their textbooks.

Science 10 - Students examined resistors today in class. This is the last section being covered prior to the exam next week. Students should be given their exam reviews tomorrow and it will be posted here as well.   Science 9 - Students received their exam reviews today in lieu of the potential storm and the ELPA's taking place later this week. Students will be expected to be thorough with their review if they are to do well on the final exam.

Science 10 - Students watched a Bill Nye video about electricity today. Students in 1st period may want to watch the video at the posted link below as it is much more detailed then the one shown in 1st period today. Students began examining circuits and voltage (electric potential) today. Students were also introduced to the effect of atmospheric pressure. A short homework assignment was assigned and will be checked for completion tomorrow.
