This week we have been looking at gender roles and expectations, and today's focus was fairy tales. You were asked to choose a copy of a fairy tale and make a chart comparing the roles of men and women in the story. Please have the story read and the chart complete for tomorrow's class.

This semester I will continue to use the Remind program. This allows me to send texts or emails to students and parents without using my phone number or yours. I've attached the instruction sheets below- just look for the correct period number. You can choose to have the messages sent via text or email.

I've also attached the course outline. Please note the materials needed: students need to have a Writer's Notebook and a novel with them each class.

Grade 9s will write the ELPA on Monday, January 25, from 12:30 until 2:30. Please be in the room of writing at 12:20 with several pencils. Students must stay in the room for the full time. Remember: No electronic devices are permitted during the exam. If you are sick that day, please call the school in the morning.

For this reading assessement, the only thing you could study would be the list of terms I provided in class (and the additional ones from the puzzle you completed on Tuesday). If you are familiar with these terms, and remember your multiple choice test taking strategies, you'll be fine! Just get a good night's sleep on Sunday and be ready for lots of reading on Monday.
