The #MVHSMake did an awesome job presenting their final projects to our panel of guests who included:  Jeff & Cheryl Willson (Brilliant Labs), Jacob Lingley via BEAM, Caitlyn Furlong (University of Moncton), Jamie O'Toole & Craig Duplessie (STEMNorth), Mr. Wood/Mrs. Hudson/Mrs. MacDonald (MVHS Staff) and Bethany Matchett (MVHSMake Alumni).  You can check out their presentations here..

Be sure to use this in creating your presentation and summary video.  Here are some links to previous ones that were done in the course before...

-        This task will be done once every two weeks of project work...

-        You are to login to the MakerSpace page and use your static page that one group member has created.

-        See attached rubric to help guide you in terms of content for the journal entry.

-        Either group member can upload pictures and/or videos and/or documents to the MakerSpace page.  However, the group member that created the static page must link the content within the journal.

-       Be sure to date the journal entry in your static page and put the latest journal entry on the top.

-        Type your summary/reflection within the static page.  Also include any relevant website links and be sure to link your picture/video uploads.

This can also be done at home in case a group member is absent.  My suggestion would be to type the entry in word and upload a document that could be linked in the journal at a later time from the member that is absent.

After you have completed the safety modules and researched the technologies, now need to find a partner and begin to work together on your project proposal. Keep in mind that the MakerSpace technologies are available for all groups but we are hoping that a pair of students will take ownership of a particular technology. As well, more than one technology can be used in a final project build.  Here are some good sites for project ideas...

Great job done by MVHSMake students who presented their final projects.  Thanks to our guests for participating in the presentation too!

On Wednesday, we will be in the computer lab to begin working on final project presentation/summary video.  Since these will summarize what you will be doing over the next couple weeks, I have decided to make the last journal entry a reflection journal that EACH STUDENT MUST COMPLETE INDIVIDUALLY and link their responses in their project static page. I will be marking this one out of 20 and it will be an individual mark.  I suggest completing the journal in word and then upload to the MakerSpace website.

Be sure to complete and answer the following...be descriptive in your responses!

1)  What was your highlight moment/event of the semester in this course?

2)  What did you find most frustrating about the course?

3)  This course is designed to apply the 4 C's...discuss whether you have developed in each of these areas:

CREATIVITY
CRITICAL THINKING & PROBLEM SOLVING
COLLABORATION
COMMUNICATION

4)  Now that the course is near completion, what is one (or more) key take away(s) from the course.

5)  Include a video clip and/or picture that showcases your contribution to the course.

NOTE:  This journal entry will be due MONDAY, JANUARY 16TH
